Pressure
switches MCS
Sensors
for any medium

Pressure switches are control devices that monitor the
pressure of a medium and convert it into an electrical
signal. They are used to monitor the pressure of liquid
and gaseous media in installations.
Pressure
switches from Moeller have two adjustable switching
points (On and Off). The contact system switches when
they are attained. This can be used either as a signal
for actuation of an auxiliary circuit (contactor control
system, PLC) or for direct switching of a load (pump,
compressor).
Single-pole
pressure switches are built as electromechanical
auxiliary switches to IEC/EN 60947-5-1/10.91,
the 3-pole motor load switches comply with IEC/EN
60947-4-1/12.91 for direct operation of
contactors and motor-starters.
Applications
Pressure
switches are used for a broad range of applications in
industry and trade.
They
function as regulators, monitors or limiters:
-
Monitoring and regulating the pressure conditions of
liquid or gaseous media in pipelines, containers,
tanks or apparatus.
- In
process control, cooling, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- For
controlling the pressure in cooling systems and
lubrication systems of a wide range of machines.
Apart from
the automatic monitoring and limitation of pressure,
their task is also for example to keep a certain
pressure constant, to initiate and end various control
and regulating processes, as well as to enable
functional sequences and generate signals.
Pressure
switches are used for automatic switching, On and Off,
of motors on pumps and compressors in building supply
installations, pressure booster systems, extinguishing
systems and oil or compressed air supply systems. A
relief valve ensures a load-free motor start-up with
small and medium size compressors.
