Efficient solutions for the motor outgoer

Moeller provides the matching solution with the
motor filter DIL M12-XMSM providing an optimum
suppression of interference with three-phase
motors.
Using the tool-less plug connection interface
the noise suppression element is quickly and
easily inserted into the standard DILM7..M15
contactor without the need for tools. It thus
enhances not only the operating safety of the
system but also the service life on the
contactor contacts.
Inductive loads are subject – even in the modern
age of digital technology – to the physical laws
of nature.
On
of these laws is Lenz's law. It states:
-
When an inductance is switched off the current
will attempt to continue to flow with the same
magnitude in the same direction.
At
the load inductance a voltage source is
established which establishes induction voltage
peaks which are several multiples of the
operating voltage.
Motors are inductive loads of this nature. When
a motor is switched off, inductive voltages
occur as an unwanted side effect and can cause
interference in ongoing operations. These
interference's even have the effect that the
voltages between the windings are so high that
the motor winding insulation breaks down and the
motor is destroyed.
Moeller supplies you with the suitable motor
suppressor elements for motors up to 7.5
kW:
– with an integrated system solution and
– on the basis of tool-less plug connection for
direct installation on the contactor.
When you use the motor suppressor filter,
voltage peaks and high-frequency interference
caused by steep voltage rises are reduced
significantly. This not only protects the motor
but rather also significantly enhances the life
of the contacts on the contactor.
