V/f control
V/f control is the standard operating method and
is more than sufficient for most drive tasks. Here,
the motor voltage (V) is adjusted proportionally to
the output frequency (f). Accordingly, the
magnetizing current of the motor is kept practically
constant in a wide adjustment range.
This means a practically constant torque for the
connected motor across the entire speed adjustment
range. A reduced torque is only normally to be
expected in the lower speed range due to the
physical properties of the asynchronous motor.
This reduction in torque is compensated by a
"Boost" function which is a feature of all Moeller
frequency inverters, so that no limitations are
experienced.
